Annual Events

NCDC
(Northern California Dance Collective)

NCDC hosts a summer dance camp in June -- nine luscious days of immersion in dance, movement, and art workshops, daily and nightly boogies, and Kids Camp for the young ones, in a stunning location.  Former Esalen chefs and the campers themselves prepare delicious vegetarian food that you will be talking about for years after.  It's all at very affordable prices, and it's a great way to get to know the folks you see at the weekly dances!

NCDC also holds a 3 day winter retreat in Santa Cruz in December.

Camp Contact at Burning Man

Sierra Contact Festival
Prior to the Camp Contact at BM is a 9 day Contact Improvisation work shop and laboratory held at Sierra Hot Springs. This is produced by Karl Frost.

WCCIF is a 20-year-old, annual, week-long Contact Improvisation fest held during the July 4th holiday each year in Berkeley, CA

WCCIF curates an annual festival and adjunct events to provide high quality Contact Improvisation (CI) dance training, teaching, and research. Our events provide flexible structures for the continued evolution of CI as a distinct art form. WCCIF acts as a regional locus for the continued world-wide exchange and development of CI practice, performance and exploration. We offer learning and teaching opportunities on multiple levels, encompassing a cross-section of communities interested in dance, improvisation, somatic movement and performance.
